~10% of violent crimes over all are committed by the victim’s intimate Partner. 2003
~Women were victimized at a greater rate (49% reported) than men (3%).
~By 1994, there were in excess of 1,500 safe houses and shelters for battered women in the U.S. Many of these deny services to same sex couples.
~44% of the victims of LGBT Domestic Violence were men in 2003, 36% women, 2% transgender and gender identity was not recorded in 9% of the victims.

ALMOST 3 MILLION CHILDREN ARE REPORTED ABUSED IN THE U.S. EVERY YEAR. THIS ABUSE CONSISTS OF SEXUAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL MALTREATMENT AND NEGLECT.

~52% of abuse/neglect reports are involving girls. 48% involve boys.
~40% of child abuse victims are maltreated solely by their mothers.
~19% were maltreated solely by their fathers.
~18% were abused by both parents.
~10% were sexually abused (girls and boys combined).
~7% were psychologically maltreated.
~18.9% experienced “other” kinds of abuse, such as “Abandonment” or “Threats of harm.
~It is estimated that only about 1/3 of actual abuse cases are ever reported.
~Less than 1% of reported incidents of abuse are considered "valid" enough to pursue by Child Protective Services nation wide.
